Every person will describe advocacy in their way, some might have a technical definition based on legislation and codes of practice, and self-advocates would describe it as the thing that got their voices heard. I define advocacy on my website as helping someone speak up and be heard so that their opinions, desires, and feelings are taken into consideration and taken seriously. Advocacy helps people become more involved in important decisions about their life, and it can be a lifeline for many. Advocates help people understand their rights and their options and support individuals to make an informed decision. It can help people live the lives they want to live.

We are already experiencing a global mental health crisis, and the COVID-19 epidemic has just worsened things. There are many ways of combatting the stigma of mental illness. But one of the most powerful forces we have in fighting the stigma of mental illness is our mental health advocates. Every time someone steps up and challenges the stigma of mental illness and supports people who suffer. It is a huge step towards tackling the mental health crisis. Recently, The Archimedes band and other musicians have been one group of people to step up as mental health advocates and challenge the stigma of mental illness.

On my website, my advocacy title is "Where The Words Fail, Music Speaks," which means that anyone can give advice and comfort with words, but these words can sometimes fail to express one's intention. My website's goal is to provide solace to those dealing with severe issues and depression. Music gives reassurance and strength in life when words can't lift you. Music improves mental well-being, boosts self-esteem and confidence, enhances focus, and improves cognitive performance. Besides, it can provide warmth, comfort, and understanding in many ways.

The Archimedes band has been a powerful source of advocacy. Their Music enables the fight against stigma surrounding essential issues, like mental health, depression, and anxiety, and advocates for a better tomorrow. It can be an incredibly empowering force and unite many individuals under the same message. People have often used Music to express complex emotions, dissent, solidarity, diversity, empathy, or speak their minds. Advocates are the only independent support people receive in some of the most challenging moments. So we must continue to promote advocacy services all over the country.

Listening to Music has always played an essential role in learning, expression, and communication. Music is one of humanity's most potent uniting forces. Almost all of us have some positive relationship with it, whether from playing or listening. Indeed, it can uplift, empower, move, heal, and stir us to action in ways few other things can. It can also inspire us to heights of empathy and expressions of radical love. In short, Music is a life force, particularly in troubling times. Its benefits seem even more powerful when considering its effect on youth development and empowerment. It helps young people develop empathy and compassion and inspires them to address social problems and work for change.
